The Northern Virginian housing market has continued to receive praise for its incredible recovery and impressive gains made over the last year. As February real estate figures pour in, it’s clear that last month was no exception to Northern Virginia’s success.
According to RealEstate Business Intelligence, consumer confidence in this region, which includes the town of Woodbridge, is up an astounding 76% over last year. Median sales prices have also reached their highest level in seven years, a sure sign of the improving economic status.
Growing numbers of active and new listings were another high point in February’s report, encouraging interested homebuyers to get out and shop the market. With an extremely tight inventory, as little as a 2.5-month supply, home sales were closing quickly as homebuyers were eager to move into their new homes. In fact, closed sales grew 13.11% since January and nearly 5% year-over-year. With this incredible momentum pushing the housing market forward in February, experts at RealEstate Business Intelligence expect there to be an increase in market activity this spring season.
