The Christopher Cares Foundation is an organization that empowers The Christopher Companies employees, trade partners and associates, through a commitment of time and money, to support a variety of charitable organizations thereby leveraging those existing institutions dedicated to providing care and support to our neighbors.
Christopher Companies is more than just a homebuilder. Since Fred Kober founded The Christopher Companies over four decades ago, we’ve relished our successes and growth, yet to this day we remain a small, locally-run firm made up of people who are deeply invested in our community. We are proud of our dedication to community service, and contribute our time and resources to charitable organizations, activities, and fundraising events throughout the Northern VA/Delaware area. At Christopher, we’re not just working to serve our clients, we’re also working to serve our neighbors.

Christopher Companies Joins Initiative to Combat Veteran Homelessness
The Christopher Companies has partnered with HomeAid Northern Virginia, KTGY Architecture + Planning, and over two dozen trade partners on a charity project led by the Operation Renewed Hope Foundation. The organization’s mission is to help combat Veteran homelessness by providing supportive services such as transportation, housing, furniture and household items, dental care, business attire, and employment networking.
The Christopher Companies is serving as the builder captain to help renovate and expand a home located in Alexandria, VA. The split-level home currently features three bedrooms and 1.5 baths, which will be expanded to a four bedroom, three full bath home. The expansion plan includes: converting a carport into a bedroom with an en-suite bath; converting the upstairs layout into two large bedrooms with a ‘Jack and Jill’ shared bathroom; and renovating a basement bedroom with an en-suite bath. In addition, Christopher Companies and trade partners will completely renovate and update the kitchen, shared living spaces, flooring, electric and plumbing, light fixtures, roof, and exterior siding and landscaping.
The renovation is expected to cost around $106,000 – in which 90% of the costs are being covered through grants and donations.
As a lifelong resident of Northern Virginia and a homebuilder, it is an honor to have the opportunity to help provide affordable housing for our country’s Veterans. I am very grateful to all our
trade partners who helped us make this happen. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without them.
– Justin Havenner, Project Manager for the Christopher Companies
Alongside Justin Havenner, Project Superintendent, Keith Ashcraft, and Director of Purchasing, Jim Buehler, are all playing a part in the organization and execution of the renovation itself.

Pathway Homes Project

Christopher Companies led a renovation of a 1,700 square foot facility that houses homeless and runaway youth. The project was 100% donated and has helped to provide a safe and stable home for 200 teenagers each year.
Habitat for Humanity
Christopher Companies partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build 3 single-family homes and renovate an existing stone home in Briarwood Trace, a Christopher community in Fairfax County. Christopher donated the lots, and various community members underwrote the homes.
