It’s official! Christopher Cares Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Christopher Companies, is now officially incorporated in the State of Virginia as a 501c(3) charitable organization. The Christopher Cares Foundation is an organization that empowers The Christopher Companies employees, trade partners and associates, through a commitment of time and money, to support a variety of charitable organizations thereby leveraging those existing institutions dedicated to providing care and support to our neighbors. Even though Christopher Cares was not its own entity in the past, many of you know we still participated in a number of charitable causes – within the company and alongside other organizations, such as HomeAid, Habitat for Humanity, Women Giving Back, Adopt-a-Family and so much more.
Going forward, the Christopher Cares Foundation will be hosting events to benefit a variety of causes that are important to our employees and the communities we serve.
2023 Efforts:
February: We hosted a 50/50 football pool to benefit the relief efforts of the Turkish earthquake.
March: A 50/50 March Madness bracket to benefit The Women’s Center of Fairfax, VA in honor of Women’s History Month. (The Women’s Center provides mental health counseling, support, and education to the metropolitan area to help people live healthy, stable, and productive lives.) We managed to raise $1,000, with over 70 bracket submissions joining our Christopher Cares group.
April: We participated in an Earth Day Clean Up at Accotink Park
May: We are currently participating in HomeAid’s annual Diaper Drive to reach a goal to collect 200,000 diapers this year and we’d love to have the support of our partners! Read more about the initiative here. Click the button below to learn how you can participate!
Summer 2023: We raised funds in the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society and joined in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®.
Ongoing: We are currently serving as HomeAid’s Builder Captain on the latest Operation Renewed Hope Foundation initiative to provide housing to homeless veterans. This holiday season, we are also grateful to have been able to participate in the Adopt-a-Family Program, which was developed to help children and families who are in need of clothing, food and toys!
