The Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAOR) recently published their third-quarter sales numbers, and it’s definitely a much-welcomed boost of optimism!  SCAOR reports that the latest positive sales data is pushing the Sussex County housing market towards stability, further encouraging homebuyers in our local area.  The report notes, “These positive housing trends continue to be fueled by strong inventories, incredible buying opportunities and interest rates that remain at below average levels.”

The “slow and steady” growth is exactly what real estate professionals and housing experts want to observe in any market. Brad Riedle, 2014 president of SCAOR, notes that we don’t “want to see numbers exploding as they did a few years ago,” because that sets us up for “an inevitable downturn later on.”  Riedle continues, “these numbers are definitely good news for our markets moving forward.”

With the encouraging performance and steady growth of the Sussex County housing market, homebuyers are wasting no time closing on their new Christopher Companies townhomes at Wharton’s Bluff!  Only a few of these ‘hot’ townhomes remain, and it’s easy to see why: Wharton’s Bluff, a new home community in Sussex County, features Christopher Companies latest townhome models: the Eagle and the Swan.  Both of these designs include open floor plans with 3 bedrooms and either 2.5 or 3.5 bathrooms.  Optional customizations, like a screened porch or deck, are also available at the request of the homebuyer.  And, maybe the most notable and buzz-worthy feature of these already impressive homes are their stunning waterviews of the Indian River, as well as their unfinished basements, a blank canvas for homeowners.  Townhomes like these don’t stay on the market for long!

But the new homes in Sussex County offer so much more than just beautifully planned neighborhoods and breathtaking home designs: living in this area is just plain fun. Classic coastal designs meet the best of Delaware’s scenery to create communities that can provide homeowners with an unforgettable living experience. Sussex County itself always has something exciting to partake in: seasonal festivals, winery tours, seaside attractions, and the list goes on.  At Wharton’s Bluff alone, residents can enjoy a pool, expertly maintained grounds, crabbing and fishing pier, and best of all, a welcoming community!
