The Belmont Bay continues to attract new service and retail businesses to its waterfront local, with TG Hair FX beauty salon as the most recent addition to the Marina Landing condominiums. Proprietor and master colorist and stylist, Teresa Gibson has been serving Northern Virginia professionals since 1987, the last 19 years at her cottage salon in Occoquan, VA.
Asked why she chose to move her successful business to Belmont Bay, Teresa replied, “Having rented my entire career I’ve always wanted my own space. The timing, proximity to my client base, and the beautiful location were attractive reasons for a positive life-change. Many of my best friends and clients live in this wonderful community.”
The small salon will be personally operated by Teresa, with Kati Wilson of ‘Colouristic’ joining her as an independent hair colorist and stylist. Both strive to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere where clientele can indulge in a variety of services by recognized professionals. The salon will offer full hair salon services including custom style cuts, color, color correction, braiding and extensions as well as mini facials, facial waxing and brow design.
As an interior decorator, Teresa has had her design work featured in Delaware Today magazine and brings her sense of elegant shabby chic design to her new space. Clients may relax and read or use their own wireless devices in front of the custom bookcases and fireplace, or just enjoy views of the Occoquan River from the cozy window seats. Vintage hair and beauty items are on display, as well as black and white photos from the beauty industry of yesteryear. Look closely, and you may see a picture of Teresa styling Marilyn Monroe’s blond locks. Even the music is vintage with the smooth jazz sounds of your favorite artists of the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s.
We would be remiss not to mention two very important associates of TG Hair FX — Coda a miniature Pomeranian, and Chloe a Maltese-Schnauzer mix. These resident salon ‘comfort’ dogs give clients the unconditional love and affection they need after a long day at the office.
