Summer is about halfway done but that doesn’t mean that the fun stops in the area! Sussex county has many fun and exciting events happening in the area to look forward to. From craft fairs and live music to BBQ and more, there’s a lot to do in the county. We wanted to highlight a few of these events to show you what you can do in the next couple of months by the beach!
The Rehoboth Art League Fine Arts & Craft Outdoor Show (August 8-9, 15-16 2015) is a two-weekend arts & crafts show that brings collectors from all over the region to see over 125 artists show off their latest works. The show features food, music, historic tours, face painting and much more! This is a perfect afternoon for a person or family who is looking to take in a bit of the culture from our region.
The Riverwalk Freedom Festival (September 11-12, 2015) is a great festival in Milford that brings the whole community together. Featuring a fireworks display on the 11th, you can find activities such as live music, BBQ, a boat parade, kids activities, book and crafts sales and so much more! This is the 15th year of this event and it sounds like it’s going to be the best one yet!
The Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival (September 12, 2015) is an annual art festival in Bethany Beach, DE that features over 100 fine artists doing a variety of artistic endeavors. Here you’ll find paintings, wood work, pottery, jewelry, sewing and much more! This year, the festival has been expanded to include wine tasting, a farmer’s market and a children’s corner! This is a great way to cap off summer at Bethany!
The Heifer’z, Hog’z & Hen’z Smokeout 500 BBQ Festival (September 25th & 26th, 2015) will also be making its debut this year in Delmar, DE. The event will feature BBQ professionals from all over the surrounding states competing for cash & prizes including $10,000! This pretty much guarantees that you will be having the best BBQ you’ve ever had. The festival also features a concert area and a beer garden.
